About Brooktree

Brooktree was a pioneering technology company known for its innovations in semiconductor solutions, particularly in the field of digital video and graphics. Founded in 1983, it gained prominence for developing high-performance integrated circuits that enhanced video processing capabilities. Brooktree's products were widely used in computer graphics, multimedia, and telecommunications applications, contributing significantly to advancements in digital imaging and video technologies.

Brooktree CORP commercialized the new architecture for digital to analog converters. The company’s first product to reach the market was an 8-but CMOS D/A converter intended for video applications. Brooktree also introduced the first “VideoDAC”. In 1996 Conexant acquired Brooktree Corp to expand its high speed digital communications and multimedia product lines.
