About California Micro Devices

California Micro Devices was a semiconductor company specializing in the design and manufacture of application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) and other semiconductor solutions. It focused on providing innovative products for mobile, computing, and consumer electronics markets, emphasizing signal integrity and power management. The company was known for its expertise in ESD protection and EMI filtering technologies.

California Micro Devices Corporation (CMD) designs and sells application specific protection devices and display electronics devices for high volume applications in the mobile handset, digital consumer electronics and personal computer markets. It is a supplier of protection devices for mobile handsets that provide Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) filtering and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection and of low capacitance ESD protection devices for digital consumer electronics and personal computers. Both types of ASIP devices are used primarily to protect various interfaces, both external and internal, used in the Company's customers' products. In April 2006, the Company acquired Arques Technology.
